E's brazillian colleagues thought I would find this a novelty
I've been missing in action.
We were all over the place in Sao Paolo: meeting up with various people (mostly E's colleagues), spending a lot more time in the car -the city is massive and the traffic is often heavy ( although not as bad as the ones in KL in my view) , marvelling at how expensive most things are (they are not far off from Swiss prices) and eating delicious Brazillian and Japanese food (usually buffet) at trendy restaurants (did you know there is a large Japanese population here in SP?).
The city reminds a lot of KL or Singapore: friendly and warm people, lots of familiar looking tropical fruits for breakfast and massively constructed buildings and roads. It is however, a lot cooler and less humid than both South East Asian cities -which is very pleasant (and perfect weather in my books).
Nice to see women dressed up and wearing heels while out and about; completely different to Basel. The weather in the latter is to be blamed of course: I for one can't imagine trotting around there in high heels or open necked dresses, especially if I'm walking around or jumping on and off trams (which I typically do). I was elated to be able to wear stuff from my HK wardrobe here. I also found a place around our hotel to get my hair and nails done. All this made me realised that I really do miss my more groomed HK- self when we are in Basel.
